COFLT Outstanding Postsecondary Language Teacher Award

The Outstanding Postsecondary Language Teacher Award recognizes postsecondary educators at the community college, college, and university level for excellent classroom competency, active participation in COFLT, leadership and professional involvement in the world language community and their institution. 

This award recognizes outstanding teaching, service, and/or research at the university level. Nominees must be affiliated with a college or university within the PNCFL region (referring to PNCFL’s six member states).

Only COFLT members may be nominated or self-nominate. Nominee must have been a member of COFLT for a minimum of three consecutive years. 

Nominee expectations

  • Exhibits outstanding teaching and classroom competency

  • Participates actively in leadership roles within their institution. 

  • Exhibits extraordinary service and or research at the university level. 

Nomination

The nomination documents for this award include:

  1. a nomination form
  2. a statement from the nominee explaining the reasons to merit this award addressing the items above
  3. a CV/Resume, 
  4. and one letter of support with whom they have worked and who has made substantial contributions to the language learning field providing the reasons the individual deserves the award.
